This Huli Huli marinade recipe is a Hawaiian marinade that combines the flavors brown sugar, ginger and soy which produces a delicious sweet and savory glaze. This recipe makes enough for approximately 5-pounds of meat and is perfect for both chicken and pork. Marinate your meat for a minimum of 8-hours.

Ingredients:

1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sherry or chicken broth
2-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot
1-1/2 teaspoons minced garlic

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, sherry/ chicken broth, gingerroot and garlic.
2. Reserve 1-1/3 cups of sauce for basting (store in refrigerator.)
