Baked Mac and Cheese Recipe

This baked mac and cheese recipe is tried and true! The consistency, the nice char on the top and creamy macaroni will be one of your favorites. Summer is coming, so make sure you try this dish!

Ingredients:

16 oz. elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
8 oz. cream cheese, cut into large chunks
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups (8 oz.) extra sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups (8 oz.) Gouda cheese, shredded
1 cup (4 oz.) Parmesan cheese, shredded

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350F.
2. Cook pasta according to package instructions.
3. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and then whisk in flour.
4. Cook for 2-minutes, until the sauce becomes bubbly and thick.
5. Whisk in milk and bring to a boil.
6. Cook for 5-minutes until thickened.
7. Stir in cream cheese until mixture is smooth.
8. Add salt and pepper.
9. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup Cheddar cheese, 1 cup Gouda, Parmesan, pasta and cream sauce.
10. Spray a 9.5″ x 11″ aluminum roasting pan with cooking spray and then add the pasta mixture.
11. Sprinkle the remaining Cheddar and Gouda on top.
12. Bake in the oven for 30-minutes, until browned.
**If you want a little extra crunch, finish it under the broiler for 2-5 minutes.
