8 cloves garlic, rough chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground pepper
2 teaspoons granulated garlic
2 teaspoons granulated onion
4 fresh sprigs rosemary
1/4 cup white wine

Directions:

1. Sprinkle bottom of crock pot with half of the salt and pepper.
2. Drizzle 1-tablespoon olive oil over bottom of pot.
3. Add onion.
4. Place hens on top of onions.
5. Drizzle with 2-tablespoon olive oil.
6. Add garlic (1/2 on the hens, then the rest around them.)
7. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion seasoning and top with fresh rosemary.
8. Add wine and cook on low for 6-hours.
If you want crispy skin, you can finish it in a 450F oven, until the skin crisps. Be careful not to dry out the hen though!

Wine Pairings:

We preface all of our wine pairing suggestions by letting you know that it’s really a matter of personal taste. While we do offer our opinions and why we selected a specific varietal, there is no right or wrong answer when pairing a wine with your dinner.

Chenin Blanc Wine

This Crock Pot Rosemary Cornish Game Hen recipe goes great with a good dry crisp white wine with nice minerality. We suggest pairing this dish with a Chenin Blanc. A Chenin Blanc is a dry white wine with flavors of quince, yellow apple and pear. The flavors and herbal notes pairs well, and the creamy minerality is the perfect accompaniment.
