
Grilled Marinated Portobello Mushroom Recipe
This Grilled Marinated Portobello Mushroom recipe requires very little work and produces a flavorful mushroom. Ingredients:
4 large portobello mushrooms
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
Fresh parsley or basil for garnish, optional
Directions:
1. Clean mushrooms by brushing off any dirt with a soft brush or lightly damp paper towel.
2. Use a spoon to scrape the black gills from the mushroom and remove stem.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, thyme, salt and pepper.
4. Place the portobello mushrooms in a shallow dish, top side up.
5. Brush the mushroom caps with the balsamic mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
6. Flip them over and brush the bottom sides; pour any extra marinade into the mushroom caps.
7. Marinate the mushrooms for 10 to 15 minutes.
8. Grill over direct medium heat (350-450F) for 5-7 minutes per side, basting occasionally.
9. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve hot.
