
Shrimp and Grits Recipe
Shrimp and grits is a traditional dish in the coastal Carolinas as well as Georgia. Our Shrimp and Grits recipe takes this Lowcountry tradition and delivers big flavors. The recipe is easy to make and it will fast become a favorite!

Ingredients:
4 cups water
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 cup stone-ground grits
3 tablespoons butter
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
6 slices of bacon, chopped
4 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 cup thinly sliced scallions
2 cloves of garlic, minced
Directions:
1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Add salt and pepper.
3. Add grits and cook until water is absorbed (20-25 minutes.) Make sure you stir occasionally to avoid sticking or lumpy grits.
4. Remove from heat and stir in butter and cheese.
5. Fry bacon.
6. Once bacon is done, put on a paper towel lined plate to drain.
7. Reserve 3 tablespoons bacon grease, and add the shrimp and sauté.
8. Once the shrimp turn pink, add lemon juice, chopped bacon, parsley, scallions and garlic and sauté (3-minutes).
9. To serve, spoon grits onto a plate and top with shrimp mixture.
