Beer Braised Country Style Pork Ribs Recipe

Our Beer Braised Country Style Pork Ribs Recipe is an easy dish to create, but it does take time. We use an Amber beer to deglaze the pot and it adds delicious flavor to ribs that literally melt in your mouth!

Ingredients:

3-4 pounds bone-in country-style pork ribs
Kosher salt
1.5 teaspoons hot paprika
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
3 medium onions, peeled and cut into wedges
1 12-ounce bottle amber ale
1.5 cups chicken broth
2 bay leaves
6 sprigs thyme
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons honey

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425F.
2. Pat ribs dry with a paper towel and season with salt and 1/2 teaspoon paprika.
3. Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
4. Brown all sides of ribs (around 2-minutes/ side- total time 8 minutes.)
5. Once done, transfer to a plate to rest.
6. Add onions and cook until browned (10-minutes).
7. Add 1 teaspoon paprika and season with salt.
8. Add beer, bring to a boil and cook until the liquid is reduced by half (8-minutes). Make sure to scrape up the brown bits with a wooden spatula as it reduces.
9. Add chicken broth, bay leaves and thyme and stir.
10. Add the ribs back to the pot and transfer to oven.
11. Cook uncovered 1-hour (flip ribs after 30-minutes).
12. In a measuring cup, mix vinegar and honey.
13. Return the pot to the stovetop and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
14. Add vinegar mixture and bring to a boil.
15. Return pot to oven and braise uncovered (20-minutes).
16. Return pot to stovetop and transfer ribs to a plate.
17. Bring the sauce to a boil over medium heat (15-minutes). The sauce should thicken. During this time skim off any fat as it thickens.
18. Discard thyme and bay leaves.
19. Return ribs to the pot and serve!
