
Hatch Chile Gravy Recipe
This Hatch Chile Gravy recipe is a thick sauce that can be served over just about anything. You can easily adjust the thickness by using more or less flour based upon what dish you are using the gravy to top.

Ingredients:
4 Hatch Chiles
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Blister the Hatch Chile skin, this can be done under a broiler, in an oven, on a stove or grill.
2. Peel peppers and chop.
3. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until browned (around 5-minutes.)
4. Add garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, making sure not to burn the garlic.
5. Stir in flour until mixture thickens.
6. Stir in chopped Chile peppers, beef broth and salt.
7. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until flavors combine (around 10-minutes.)
