Slow Cooker Shakshuka Recipe
Shakshuka is a popular dish from Northern Africa. The dish consists of eggs that are poached in a tomato sauce with peppers, onions and spices. Our Slow Cooker Shakshuka Recipe is spiced with paprika, piment d’Espelette, sugar and a bay leaf. This dish is a versatile enough for a hearty brunch, lunch or even dinner!

Ingredients:
1/4 cup of olive oil
Half of an onion, thinly sliced
4 sliced garlic cloves
2 cups of thinly sliced peppers (red, green, yellow)
3/4 teaspoon of paprika
3/4 teaspoon of piment d’Espelette You can use Hot Paprika as a substitute for this ingredient.
3/4 teaspoon of sugar
1 bay leaf
8-ounce can of diced tomatoes
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients to slow cooker and stir to combine.
2. Cook on High for 3-hours.
3. Crack eggs directly on top of the sauce.
4. Cover and cook on high for 12-15 minutes, whites will have to set and yolks will remain soft.
5. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with crusty bread.
